Walled GardenThe Caumsett Walled Garden, a centerpiece of Caumsett State Historic Park Preserve, stands as a testament to the dedication and hard work of the Caumsett Foundation. Originally designed as a four-acre garden for producing fresh produce and flowers for the Field family, it has undergone significant transformations over the years. In 2016, the Foundation spearheaded a redesign project, adapting the space into a quadrangle of native trees, shrubs, and perennial flowers, separated by crushed bluestone walkways. The Foundation's commitment to preserving this historic feature is reflected in our ongoing efforts to maintain and enhance the garden, including the meticulous restoration of the 700-foot exterior brick walls and wooden gates.

The Walled Garden offers a picturesque setting for photography, but it is important to note that permits are required for all commercial photography, including wedding, family, and engagement photos. The photography permit fee plays a crucial role in supporting the Caumsett Foundation's conservation efforts. These funds directly contribute to the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the Walled Garden, allowing it to remain a beautiful and tranquil space for all visitors to enjoy.

Professional photography permits are $250. It's advisable to secure your permit well in advance, as the park's beautiful landscapes and historic features make it a popular location for professional photography sessions.

*Please Note: This photography permit is for the Wall Garden only. Professional photography permits for park grounds are available through New York State Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. Please contact LongIslandPermits@parks.ny.gov for more information.

**Please Note: There is a $35 parking permit required for busses, limos, and large occupancy commercial vehicles. Please notify The Caumsett Foundation if you require a permit at least 21 days before your scheduled photoshoot.
